Green Tea, An Aid To Weight Loss How It Can Help You

Myth or fact, does green tea help with weight loss?Green tea is known to have many beneficial properties to our health and well being, one of which is claimed by many to help weight loss.

Which are the most effective forms of taking the tea?

You may not be aware that you have a choice. Many people prefer drinking by the cup but the alternative of course is by supplements.

The basic forms of green tea are either tea bags or leaf tea or in tablet form.

Generations of people have drunk green tea in drink form, but the manufacture of the tea in tablet form which are high in the concentration of green tea extracts are now widely available.

Most herbal, health and vitamin stores stock green extract and of course it is widely available on line. Contents of 200mg to 500mg of extract in the tablets and the normal directions for dosage is 1 to 3 per day.

For those of us who do not like the taste of the tea, the tablets are ideal. It is believed by many that the more concentrated tea extract contained in tablet form may increase the fat burning effect and be more beneficial health wise as well as weight loss enhancing. The antioxidants found in tea are called Epigallocatechin Gallate.

Having a refreshing and pleasant flavor, the tea is still chosen as a drink in preference to tablet form.

If you are using green tea for weight loss, it may be advisable to take one or two supplements as well as the tea in drink form. Experts advise 3 cups per day but some suggest 10 would give better health and weight loss benefits. Considering each cup contains approximately 50-150mg antioxidants it is more advisable to take some in tablet form to achieve maximum dosage.

Why not take a supplement containing a minimum dose of antioxidants you want daily thus any tea consumed on top is a bonus.

Be aware that green tea contains caffeine, so if this is a problem you may have to limit your intake. Some of the supplements are caffeine free, although you should read the labels carefully.

However you chose to consume green tea for weight loss, general health and well being is beneficial. Chose the form of tea extract that suits you best.
